You see a lot of people touting
colostrum as some super IGF booster that some how will help release your HGH.
Dr. Michael Colgan, world renowned nutrition expert had this to say about
colostrums. “Oral
bovine colostrum cannot work in adults
for two reasons. First a
polypeptide such as IGF, which consists of 67- amino acid chain, is
slaughtered by the adult digestion.
The information only gets though in newborns infants because their digestive
systems have not yet kicked in. But after a day or two, the infant gut changes
to a harsh acidity of 1.0, same as an adult. That is why colostrum stops
flowing from the mother around day two.
“Second,
bovine IGF is chemically different from human IGF.
Even if it got passed digestion,
your immune system would recognize it as foreign immediately, and attack
and destroy it.”
“Finally, the meat industry spends
millions on anabolic steroids and other synthetic drugs to promote lean mass
in cattle. If the IGF in bovine colostrums grew muscle in cows don’t you think
they would use it. They don’t because it doesn’t work. Selling
bovine colostrum as an oral anabolic agent for athletes is the type of scrape-the-bottom-of-the-barrel
scam that drags the whole nutrition industry down in the dirt.”
This is what Bill Phillips, best
selling author and renowned supplement expert, had to say about colostrum in Sport
Supplement Review, “This one of those supplements that actually makes me
grin. If most people knew what this was, they wouldn’t go anywhere near it. If you’re
not a newborn, your gut will destroy the active goodies in colostrum,”
