First you can use a process of elimination.

  1. Eliminate any HGH sprays. These include homeopathic sprays (nasal or oral) along with any other sprays that claim to boost or raise your GH. By FTC News, “FTC Stops False Claims about Fountain of Youth Oral Sprays, Sprays Do Not Contain, or Cause the Body to Produce, Human Growth Hormone as Claimed”. (Click here to read the article)

  2. Eliminate any products that do not have their ingredients listed. When you see this you need to ask yourself ‘what are trying to hide?’ If it is a good product wouldn’t you want to ‘show it off’?

  3. If they do have their ingredients listed, see if it is individually or in a Proprietary blend. (Click here to see why you should avoid Proprietary blends). Eliminate any that have animal products in them. HGH stands for HUMAN Growth Hormone; it does not exist in any other species. This includes Anterior Pituitary extract (click here for more on this) and Colostrum, that "is the type of scrape-the-bottom-of-the-barrel scam that drags the whole nutrition industry down in the dirt.” (click here for more on this)

  4. After this 3 step elimination process make sure the ingredients do what they claim and are back up by scientific research, not just blanket statements, false testimonials, and marketing ploys made up by those who stand to profit. You will see a lot of products with the right ingredient(s) but nowhere near the amount needed. “Growth Hormone Products Don’t Contain Enough Ingredients A new report by ConsumerLab.com said that many supplements that claim to boost levels of human growth hormone (hGH) actually contain only trace amounts of the substances needed to achieve this.”(Click here to read the article)

  5. See what the experts say:

When Dr. Ronald Klatz, the guru on HGH and anti-aging was on the O’Reilly Factor August 12, 2003 he stated that he took the injection of HGH to see the benefits. But now only use AMINO ACIDS.

(O’Reilly) Alright, tell us what do you do? Do you take a shot of HGH every month, week?

(Klatz): No, I was on injectable growth hormone for 6 months when I did my first book on the topic, just to experience the beneficial effects.

(O’Reilly): Which were?

(Klatz): Which was I lost weight and gained muscle. My chest blew out. I had to go get new suits.

(O’Reilly): Yeah, you can get that on steroids though.

(Klatz): Well, I didn’t need it. I was taking it but I was getting a little bit too high a level, so I stopped taking the injectable. Now I’m taking amino acids just to keep my hormones at natural levels.

(O’Reilly): So you’re not taking this HGH anymore even though it made you look like Arnold?

(Klatz): No, I’m not taking the injectable. I’m taking amino acid precursors and I didn’t want to look like Arnold, I wanted to look like me…

From Grow Young With HGH by Dr. Ronald Klatz

There is reason to believe combining glutamine, arginine, ornithine, and lysine will have a synergistic effect.

THE POTENCY OF A POWDER

But for most of us, expensive and inconvenient shots are not necessary. Karen, a fifty-year-old mother of two and the head of her own small PR firm, decided to try growth hormone releasers rather than spend $1000 a month on GH. Shebegan taking 2,000 milligrams of glutamine and adding a weight lifting program to her daily five mile run. Within a few days, she says, “I felt newly energized. I’m not one of those people who enjoy exercising, but suddenly I was looking forward to it. About a month later, people were remarking on how well I looked. My jeans, which were getting tight around the waist, suddenly had room to spare. And I was sleeping better than I had in years.” Now, six months later, she has taken two inches off her waist and her friends are laughingly accusing her of having had a face-lift when she went to Mexicofor a week. As for Karen, she is still shaking her in disbelief that her nighttime cocktail of a teaspoon of powder dissolved in water could work such wonders. “I call it the potion of youth,” she says.

From HGH Age-Reversing Miracle, by Rita Elkins M.H.,

What to look for in an HGH-Enhancing Product,

Using natural HGH-Stimulating supplements is preferred to forms of synthetic HGH. Make sure that you read ingredient labels of various products which main contain purported synthetic HGH. Search out products with specific nutrient formulations designed to assist the body in producing and releasing its own growth hormone. Some simple things to look for in a product include:

-Contains complexes that promote the secretion of growth Hormone from the pituitary gland
-Contains complexes designed to stimulate cellular generation and increase lean muscle mass.
-Comes in a powdered drink formulation for effective and rapid assimilation

-Comes from a well-known and reputable company with good credentials
-Contains the proper free-form amino acids and other key compounds, including powerful protein complexes
-Does not contain artificial sweeteners, fillers or preservatives
-Is backed by scientists who have reputable research and development departments.

By prompting the pituitary gland to naturally raise HGH, an effective blend of compounds can also address issues dealing with insulin levels, enzymatic reactions that inhibit HGH and how it is converted to IGF-1.

Note: Trying to raise HGH levels by randomly purchasing single supplements and taking them with undoubtedly fail. Use proven and scientifically validated formulas for optimal results.

From The New Anti-Aging Revolution, by Dr. Ronald Klatz and Dr. Robert Goldman,

HGH therapy may prevent or reverse many of the most common disease and conditions of aging. In fact, it appears that a program of hormone replacement therapy (HRT), including HGH stimulation, may provide one if the most effective means of maintaining health and vigor into one’s eighties, nineties, and beyond.

Natural HGH Releasers: Human Growth Factors

People who are concerned about cost, side effects, and safety, yet want the innumerable benefits of HGH, may consider another option: promoting the enhanced production of the hormone itself. A broad and avid interest in nutritional approaches to boost one’s HGH levels was spawned with the publication of Grow Young with HGH in 1996 by the authors of this book.  Today, consumers have an array of choices of HGH enhancing nutritional products.  This berth in product options gives rise to a potential for confusion about selecting and appropriate nutraceutical growth hormone hGf agent. Consumers would be prudent to select a complete supplementation system, with its component nutrients documented by strong scientific research.  A complete dietary supplementation that broadly addresses aging-releated growth hormone and growth factor declined encompasses a daytime regimen of nutritionals, and a nighttime formulation that functions when you sleep.

From Optimum Sports Nutrition, by Dr. Michael Colgan,

The Best nutritional method to stimulate release of growth hormone is still to use certain amino acids. In humans the largest growth hormone release occurs 30-60 minutes after falling asleep, and during heavy exercise. To take advantage of these normal physiological functions, smart athletes increase the frequency of sleep and exercise periods and make their use of amino acids coincide.(Take the aminos one hour before sleep and/or workingout).
